Our cost example
Clear numbers. Clear assumptions.
Our example uses an eight-hour hygiene shift at $65/hr and four shifts in a month. Professional pay is $520 per shift and $2,080 per month.
A 22.5% booking fee based on that pay is $117 per shift, or $468 per month. It is charged to the office on top of the professional’s wages. At the same $65/hr offer, the professional earns $520 gross in both models; this comparison does not subtract an agency fee from the clinician’s wages.
HygieneShift’s planned booking fee is $0 per shift, with a separate $78 monthly office membership. At four shifts, that reduces platform fees by $390 per month. Offices can choose to put the savings toward higher offers; higher pay is agreed in each offer. Staff pay and employer expenses are separate.
The 22.5% figure comes from published dental staffing pricing, checked October 6, 2026. That provider states its fee is paid by the dental office and that professionals use the service free. This is a hygiene booking-fee example, not an average or a claim that every staffing company deducts a percentage from wages. Other roles and services have different prices.
The savings can serve both sides: in the four-shift example, offering $70/hr instead of $65/hr increases professional gross pay by $160/month and still leaves $230/month in office savings before employer costs. Become a founding office →
Your agreed pay belongs to you.
“100% of agreed gross pay” means HygieneShift charges the professional no commission, booking fee, or membership fee on earnings. Your office pays agreed wages through employee payroll. Normal tax withholding and other authorized payroll deductions still apply, so gross pay is not the same as take-home pay. The office membership is separate from wages.
The $65/hr offer is within a published San Diego hygiene pay range of $65–$69/hr, checked the same day. It is an example offer; actual pay is agreed with each office.
Compare the services, too.
This is a comparison of professional pay and platform fees. It excludes payroll administration, employer taxes, workers' compensation, malpractice insurance, reimbursements, and travel bonuses. Other services may include some of these. HygieneShift SD's first version requires offices to arrange payroll and required coverage separately.
The $78 membership is billed monthly for one office, with unlimited shift posts and no HygieneShift booking fee. There is one office plan, with no annual commitment or required upgrade.
A lower paid monthly subscription.
At $78, our membership is below the published paid subscriptions in this comparison, checked October 6, 2026. One published plan is $97/month on a 12-month Tier 1 plan in selected regions, plus $20 per completed booking. At four bookings, those platform charges total $177, versus our $78: $99 less per month. Regional prices may differ, and this is not a verified San Diego quote.
Another published temp-only membership is $139/month with unlimited requests. The monthly difference is $139 − $78 = $61 before any pay increase. At 32 hours, a $1/hr raise uses $32 and leaves $29 for the office. For the current hygiene-coverage comparison, see office membership details and published competitor plans. Services and included tools differ.
A published 12% service fee adds $62.40 to the example shift, or $499.20 over eight shifts, before separate employer payroll costs. For a single shift, that service fee is lower than our $78 membership. Compare price, actual local availability, and responsibility for payroll, insurance, credentialing, and coverage before deciding.
Our network requires W-2 employee payroll. Offices are the employer, complete reviewed payroll readiness, and run payroll through their own provider.
The advertised membership is $78/month per office. Creating an account is free. Bookings require readiness checks and the hiring office’s review.
